Blogging: Everybody Else Is Doing It. So What?
So much blogging is going on, isn’t it? Almost everyone has a blog. I have one. Other people writing on Bukisa have one (or maybe more). Then we read about people who monetize their blogs and how they can obtain their whole monthly income from their online content. So how do they do it? They find a way to differentiate themselves. I guess it is easier if you are writing about finance or self-improvement. They are always big hits. I also noticed that people just love to come yelling (either at you or with you) if you call certain groups names and just label them as tasteless or stupid. So when you want others to notice you, you can either go extra professional and educate people on some level or you can just really cut back on quality, attract attention and win anyway.


But what if -like me- all you want to do is entertain and encourage? What if I you want to be heard by people and also share stuff with them? Sure, education can and will be a part of the process but maybe you also want to find people like you and share dreams, disappointments, banters, plans and well, laughs? What do you do? Well, you keep searching. You look for ways to make your offerings get out there and stand out somehow. What if everyone is saying something? So can you – you can share the audience. “Just because a lot of (other) people are doing it is one of the worst excuses I have ever heard. Because if people actually stuck to that, no one would accomplish anything. No one would get famous. “Everyone is trying to be a rock star. I’m quitting the band”. Seth Godin already wrote about what I thought about marketing.” “Let’s not try to break into the art world.” Fine, then. Don’t blog. Don’t write. Don’t try.


There are billions of people in this world. There will always be competition. You can either try and find a way of your own, or you can quit after you realize you have done all you can. But if someone is telling you to let go because of “other people” , maybe they are not just being nice. Maybe they are just trying to eliminate you.
